Epiphone 1964 Newport
This is one best sounding and playing vintage instruments I've ever played in 35 years as a player and 25 years as a bass-exclusive retailer. It's got pretty much one sound, and it's freaking amazing. Even all up and down the fretboard and incredible sustain. It's a short scale that acts like big bass. The color is super rare and the original case is included. Congrats to buyer of this beauty!
This bass came to The Bass Shop by way of Kebo's Bass Works. Our new retail alliance with them means you'll be seeing some great used and vintage basses come through The Shop on a regular basis. Here's is what Kevin Borden of Kebo's Bass Works has to say about this bass:
"Gold Certified - GO FIND THE OTHER ONE! I've seen 1 'Fox' bass in 20 years! This bass is in GREAT SHAPE, nickel parts, all there!!!!! 209xxx sn, ALL OLD FEATURES, STUPID RARE OHSC!!! plays and sounds nuts, crazy rare finish showing mild wear and patina. Has a changed ground wire and a teeeeeny hole on the guard (not in the wood) near the jack. You'll go right past it. What a rare and cool bass!"
