Fender 1958 Precision Bass (Early Factory Refin)
This '58 P is really pretty remarkable. It's light and the body is ridiculously resonant. An early factor refin was performed on the body with a supervisor stamp under the pickguard. The body dates March of 1958 and the pots also date to '58, but the serial number matches a 1959 build. There is no neck date as in '58 there was a stretch of time neck dates were ceased after a certain expletive was found on on the neck one of the production basses. A great opportunity to own a classic Fender for half as much as a stock, original 1958 P Bass. According to the original owner, who bought the bass new in 1958, the bass was sent to Fender in 1965 to refin the body as well as refretting and refinishing the neck and headstock, hence the mid '60s logo. This was all done to match the instruments of his bandmates in a show band back then. The instruments all had to match on stage, brand, color, etc...
