Fender 1963 Precision
This is one of the best examples of a pre-CBS Fender Precision we've seen. Totally original top to bottom. It is missing the pickup cover, but includes the ash tray. Serial number, pot codes, and neck stamp, put this bass squarely in 1963. The consignor was a little skittish about taking it apart, so we did the honors to check all the aforementioned identifiers. It's got some wear, but overall it's in really good condition, the neck is straight, the frets have a little wear in the first couple positions, and the truss rod is totally functional. The pickguard, of course, has a little buckling, as they will of this age. The Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide has this year and model going for anywhere between $8,000 to $18,000. We have it priced in the middle, but honestly, finding an all original 1963 Precision is difficult. The tone is amazing and we absolutely dig this bass.
