This barely used M-500 made its way into The Shop by way of a local player who put very few hours on this amp. It's being sold to fun a lighter weight amp. This thing is loud and tight and sounds amazing with plenty of tone control. Here are the details directly from Phil Jones:

"The M-500 has evolved from the original design in 2002. Over the years we have made numerous improvements to boost performance.

We redesigned a more efficient power output stage and lowered the operating temperature of the output devices with our custom tooling of the power amplifier heat-sink assembly. Higher efficiency and lower operating temperature yields great benefit to the longevity of the M-500. It will run for decades. A new circuit is added to allow the cooling fan to operate only when needed, so it works in the studio without ambient noise from the fan.

The M-500 is a single one channel power house with ultimate tone shaped by the 12-band graphic EQ and 3 band parametric EQ. It can power multiple speaker cabinets with ease. Our exclusive optical limiter circuit gives it a very smooth operation. Bass Player magazine in 2004 review quoted it “the best on board limiter found in a bass amp”.

2% silver solder connections; 2.5 mm steel chassis; heavy duty chrome plated corners; recessed Allen bolt mounted handle; custom machined metal and anodized aluminum knobs; and much more. No details left unattended; and they scream quality."

  • The Bass Shop offers a 48 hour trial period for your approval. However, all returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee, regardless of reason. You must call before returning the bass. The customer is responsible for all shipping charges. This may sound harsh, but this serves to eliminate the “weekend rental” syndrome, minimize buyer’s remorse, and save wear and tear on instruments. It also costs us thousands of dollars a year in fees. So make absolutely sure you want what you are buying, clear it with your spouse, and know that you are buying a bass that is accurately described and professionally set up. Sometimes a bass can go out of whack, especially during summer and winter, so if there is a set up issue when you get the bass, please give us a call and we can talk you through a minimal tweak to make it perfect again. Lastly, if a purchase is made and The Bass Shop has received approval from your credit card company, it is considered a sale, regardless of whether the bass has been shipped or not. So if you decide to back out of a deal after your card has been charged, you are still subject to the 10% restocking fee. In the case of an instrument that is damaged or delivered to the customer with any defects as a result of shipping, The Bass Shop will arrange return of the bass and you will not be responsible for shipping or the restocking fee.
